Those early years were the toughest of our lives, but we would not swap them for anything. God used that time to refine, challenge and develop us. The church started with nine people. As it grew, we rented halls across the city of Peterborough, mopping up blood and beer from the previous night’s revelry, before we could turn the hired venue into the ‘House of the Lord’!
In 2006, after several years of praying, planning and incredible sacrificial giving, the Peterborough congregation moved into a brand new, purpose-built facility; KingsGate.
However, we’ve never been defined by the buildings we’ve gathered in. It’s the people, that made the church what it was back then, and makes it what it is today. We are humbled and amazed at God’s breathtaking grace as He adds in the right people, just at the right time. We have an amazing team of men and women, full of faith and integrity who love God, His church and His Kingdom.
In 2010 a second centre was launched in Cambridge and a vibrant, growing community is being established. These are exciting times as we seek to serve God and pioneer a new work in a different city.
A hallmark of KingsGate Community Church is that, everywhere you turn, there are people of all ages, from different cultures and walks of life- at various stages on their journey of faith in Jesus Christ, who have incredible stories to tell of how God has transformed their lives.
