Slum City
Can you handle life as one billion others know it?
Slum City is an opportunity for youth groups from three churches to come together (Bretton Baptist Church, Kingsgate Community Church and Werrington Parish) to experience a tiny insight of what life is like for one billion of the world’s poorest people. We will sleep in our very own, homemade, slum. We will eat, have competitions (with lots of prizes), sleep in our slum, and do Bible studies together, along with loads of other stuff too... sound like something you might be interested in? Community work
We believe that the church community should play an active part in our local communities. We do this through Raw Youth clubs, schools work and other social action days, where we can be young people who are active members of society.
Raising money
We want to make a difference in our world. There are opportunities for us to get stuck in and raise money for many charities, including 24 Hour Famine, Cardboard City (St Theresa’s Shelter) and Compassion.
Connect Events and Socials
We love socialising and having fun, and have loads of different activities, including trips to theme parks, the beach, themed parties, lots of pizza and many other special events!
Youth Camps
We organise two youth camps a year. One for School Years 7 & 8, and one for School Years 9+. We have an action-packed programme which gives us time to make new friends, get to know each other, learn more about our relationship with God and have loads of fun along the way!
