Our Story
"WE HAVE A HEART TO SEE THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE COME TO KNOW THE AMAZING LOVE OF GOD"
In September 1988 Dave and Karen accepted the challenge to come to Peterborough and plant a church. They moved from Oxford, where Dave was completing a doctoral thesis on the 17th Century evangelist George Whitefield.
Their mandate was to build a local church that would impact the city, the region, the nation and beyond.
This journey started with just nine people in Dave and Karen’s living room, and over the following years the Church continued to move to various hired halls around Peterborough. However, in March 2005, the Church purchased 12.4 acres of land, and on 3rd September 2006 we moved into a wonderful facility – KingsGate Peterborough.
The exciting journey has continued with a God-given desire to reach the people of Cambridge and the surrounding region with the good news of God’s love.
The first Sunday service in Cambridge took place on 19 September 2010 at West Road Concert Hall - and KingsGate Cambridge was born. We are now one church, two centres!
